    Exam Pattern

    The SSC CGL exam comprises of Three levels:

    1. Prelims Examination
    2. Mains Examination
    3. Interview/Personality Test
    1. Prelims Examination

    The Prelims is a screening test to shortlist candidates for the Mains. It consists of only one section.

    General Knowledge 150 200 180 minutes
    • Duration: 180 min 
    • Maximum Marks: 200
    • Number of Questions: 150
    • Type: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions)
    • Marking: 1/3th of marks is deducted for each wrong answer.
    • Qualification: Candidate who has cleared  overall cut-off will get call for mains exam

    2.Mains Examination

    The Mains consists of four papers and it doesn’t required any optional subject. It consist of following paper:

    • General Studies Paper-I: It covers following 3 sections:

          Section-I: Indian History, Culture, Rajasthan History

          Section-II: Indian Ecconomics, World Ecconomics and Rajasthan Ecconomics.

          Section-III: Sociology, Management, Accounting, and Auditing.

      • General Studies Paper-II: It covers following 3 sections:

              Section-I: Logical Reasoning, Mental Ability, and Basic Numeracy Syllabus.

              Section-II: General Science and Technology

              Section-III: Ethics, Integrity, World, Indian and Rajasthan Geography

    • General Studies Paper-III: It covers following 3 sections

          Section-I: Indian, World and Rajasthan Political system or polity

          Section-II:Public Administration

          Section-III:Behaviour and law

    • General Studies Paper-III: It covers following 2 sections

          Section-I: General Hindi

          Section-II:General English

    Paper Marks Time Duration
    Paper I: General Studies 200 180 minutes
    Paper II: General Studies 200 180 minutes
    Paper III: General Studies 200 180 minutes
    Paper IV: General Studies 200 180 minutes
    Total 800
    • Maximum Marks: 800 of all four papers
    • Number of Questions: Each paper has different no of questions
    • Type: Subjective
    • Marking: no negative marking
    • Qualification:Candidates whio clears paper wise and overall cut-off will get call for interview.

    3. Interview/Personality Test:

    • Qualification:Candidates who qualify the Main exam are called for an interview.
    • Marks:The interview typically carries 100 marks.

    Final Selection:

    • The final merit list is prepared based on the combined marks of the Mains examination and interview marks( Marks 800+ 100)
