Exam Pattern
The RRB NTPC exam comprises of following levels:
- Computer based Test (1st Stage)
- Computer based Test (2nd Stage)
- Computer Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST)
- Documents Verification
- Medical Examination
1. Computer-Based Test (CBT-1st Stage)
The exam comprises of three section and its complete details are as follows:

- Duration: 90 minutes with extra 30 minutes for PwBD candidates

- Type: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions)
- Marking: 1/3th of marks is deducted for each wrong answer.
- Qualification: This is a screening test conducted to shortlist candidates for 2nf level Computer based Test. Marks scored in this exam shall not be counted for selection to further stages.
2. Computer-Based Test (CBT-2nd Stage)
The exam comprises of three section and its complete details are as follows:

- Qualification: This is a screening test conducted to shortlist candidates for 2nf level Computer based Test. Marks of this exam shall not be added in final merit list.
3. Computer Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST)
After Computer Based Test (2nd Stage), candidates who apply for accounts clerk cum typist and junior clerk cum typist has to appear for Computer Based Typing Skill Test.
- Qualification: Nature of the test is only qualifying. Marks secured shall not be counted in final selection.
- Criteria: The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi
- Exemption: For PwBD candidates there will be exemption for typing test
4. Document Verification:
- Candidates selected in CBT 2nd stage will be called for Document Verification. Number of shortlisted candidates will be equal to no of vacancies
- In case two candidates have equal marks , candidate will higher age will be given priority.
5. Medical Examination:
- Candidates passing document verification process will have to pass medical fitness test to secure the job.
